Demigryphs!

Quick update.

Demigrpyhs (at least the mount, not the rider). One down, five to go.

Realised the one I painted is missing his tongue. (dang)

Improvise, adapt, overcome

So, taking a break from painting the AvP minis. Can only deal with so many tiny, bendy, fiddly bits of aliens. There are 15 warriors on my desk that I'll get to sooner or later. But for now, something different, and going back to the Warhammer Fantasy army that I started (probably) about 10 years ago. Of course, most of the minis I painted back then were terrible, but....

My painting has improved since then, and simple green is an amazing thing.

State of the Empire army 2014. Couple of units painted, but not much. Had just about finished stripping some of the older minis from a previous paint scheme from around 2008. Plenty of unpainted plastic.....

All up there is:

  • 30 Greatswords
  • 60 Halberdiers
  • 40 Swordsmen
  • 30 Spearmen
  • 20 Flagellants
  • 20 Hangunners
  • 10 Crossbowmen
  • 20 Archers
  • 20 Knights
  • 10 Inner Circle knights
  • 10 Outriders
  • 10 Pistoliers
  • 5 Outrider / Pistolier command
  • 6 Demigryphs
  • 3 Buff wagons (one of each)
  • 1 steam tank
  • 5 war machines (2 hellblaster, 2 cannon, 1 mortar)
  • 18 war machine crew
  • 17 characters

State of the Empire army 2016 (about a year ago). Lots more painted troops, and most of the state troop units as well (so many tiny men.....). Still got plenty of cav and the buff wagons to go, as well as most of the characters.

Three things make the empire great. Faith, steel and gunpowder (especially the last one). Recently completed things (from the last week).

Which leaves to be painted:

  • 10 Inner Circle knights
  • 10 Outriders
  • 5 Pistoliers
  • 5 Outrider / Pistolier command
  • 6 Demigryphs
  • 3 Buff wagons (one of each)
  • 18 war machine crew
  • 15 characters
  • shields for the state troops (so many shields....)

Fun times ahead.

New year, new post (2022 edition)

Well, somehow its 2022. No idea where the time has gone, I'm still mentally stuck in March 2020. Painting has been slow recently, but I ...
