New year, new post (2022 edition)

Well, somehow its 2022. No idea where the time has gone, I'm still mentally stuck in March 2020. Painting has been slow recently, but I have hit the big milestone of finishing all of my Necrons. Or, at least, all the Necrons that I currently have (who knows, maybe there'll be more in the future).

There wasn't much left to paint to hit that milestone, with only a unit of 10 Lychguard, a Chronomancer and a Lord conversion (no photos of those last two though).

All together now!

I've also started work on the 6mm Romans. I'll re-base them onto something else (that's more uniform in shape) later.

Spooktober 2021

Spooktober update, so only fair I post some of the Necrons I've been working on over the last few months.

Converted Flayed one. Its a warrior cut up with some repositioning, and some claws from some spare Ad-Mech kits a friend of mine had. Pretty happy with how they turned out.

Some converted Deathmarks. I had some spare Deathmark torsos, heads and guns. The rest is converted old warriors. Pretty happy with how they turned out. From a distance / on the table they look good enough.

Last year I got some old Necrons off a friend of mine. He was downsizing his collection, and I offered them a new home. Over the last year I've been repainting them, and converting a few. I've finally finished with that process.

Illuminor Szeras. Pretty happy with how he turned out. I repainted the carapace and armour as I wasn't originally happy with it. I was worried the paint would be to thick, but think it turned out fine in the end. I tried to do a more colourful transition for the melting flesh stuff, but ended up going for a flesh to green transition (which ties it in with the other glowing green that appears on the model).

A few upcoming projects. Some 6mm Republic Romans, and some Age of Sigmar Stormcast.

Painting lockdown shenanigans

Well, I was meant to be taking two weeks off work to go on holiday, which did not happen.....

However that has meant for some time to be spent painting more minis in my backlog.

There's been some attempts at wet blending on some of the blades, and after a couple of issues with the wet palette being a little too wet, I think I've got it figured out.

I've also picked up enough new Primaris stuff to throw together 2k, and was lucky enough to pre-order Cursed City when it came out. There's been a lot of building going on in addition to painting.

I also disassembled, stripped the paint, reassembled and repainted a Monolith I got off a friend. All in all, pretty happy with how it turned out.

I also also bought a few Tau things (Broadsides and Commanders). I had an old Tau army sitting in boxes from 4th ed. They all got stripped and reassembled, and now they've also joined to backlog of things to paint. Below are two of the commanders with magnetised weapons, including a commander Farsight, with a glaive from an excess Necron Overlord.
