Update, therefore hapiness

Well it's been far too long since my last update; nine months is an awful long hiatus in blogging. Though in that time there has been hobbying, however it was around organising a wedding and honeymoon (which were bigger priorities). In that time there has been painting, with more Ariadna being worked on. This is the start of a TAK force, though some of the models I've had for quite some time. There's also some USAriadna I'd originally bought to do a test paint scheme for my Colonial Marines, however I repainted them. 

Not shown here is the Heavy Gear Fleet Scale. It was an impulse purchase circa 2013 that's been gathering dust in to-paint pile. That will be the next update (hopefully soon).

MRRF - Para commando + Warcor

I was kinda intrigued as to how long it takes me to paint something. My usual set up is to have something on in the background (something on the tv or youtube), and then paint by colour / layers. This does become pretty inefficient at times, if I'm watching something interesting. I ended up setting a timer, and stopping it when I stepped away from the painting desk.

I forgot to start it again for the final colours, so it ended up taking about 1.5 hours. I already had a painted base, so that also took about 10 minutes off the overall time as well.

End of the Empire

At least in terms of painting.....

This is end of this painting project, which I honestly thought I'd have knocked over a few years ago (but then again, all painting projects are probably like that. This one started (as a guess) over 10 years ago; before university, which put a massive break in my hobbying.

Whilst I've enjoyed painting Talabecland colours yellow is one of the most frustrating to paint, and will probably not be as prominent in future painting projects.

All up the army includes:
- 12 Characters on foot
- Five mounted characters
- 30 Greatswords
- 130 State troops with hand weapons (halberdiers, swordsmen, spearmen, full commands)
- 40 State troops with ranged weapons (crossbows, handguns, full command)
- 20 Archers
- 20 Flagellants
- 30 Knights
- 12 Pistoliers
- Six Demigryphs
- One Steam Tank
- Five war machines: two Cannons, two Hellblasters and one Mortar (and 15 crew)
- Three buff wagons: Hurricanum, Lumiark, War Alter

All for a grand total of 329 minis of varying sizes.
