Post lockdown painting update!

So, lockdown ended a while back, and an update to this blog is long overdue. As always, I've been painting, but just not updating stuff. I've managed to nearly finish all of my Necron stuff, only Illuminor Szeras is left to go, so I've made a fair dent into the miniature backlog already this year.

I've continued to work on the layering / shading technique, and pretty happy with how that's going. Also used nearly a pot of the GW Valhallan Blizzard, which also provides a nice snow effect. The ice on the bases is a very watered down blue wash over some Martian Ironearth painted white; an effect I'm also pretty happy with.

Painted warrirors

Skorpekh Lord. Pretty happy with how the weapon shading effects turned out.

Reanimator, Overlord and a Skorpekh destroyer (of the three in the unit, his weapons came out the best).

Reanimator. Probably won't see the light of the gaming table.

Painted Necron half of Indomnitus

Painted army that I'll be taking to a tournament this weekend.

Some upcoming 6mm historical stuff that's on the to-paint list. This is a bunch of Baccus 6mm Republic Romans. There's some Carthaginians for them to fight (who aren't in this photo, but there's an equal amount of them!). Haven't painted 6mm historicals before, so this should be interesting.
